PC's cant access remote printer after UGS Gateway installed.

If a customer calls in and is unable to print remotely and has an all in one unit (Copy, scan, print, fax machine). Ask the user if the printer is plugged into the UGS polycom gateway. If the customer says Yes then ask to do a screen share to check to ensure the gateway was properly put into bridge mode.

  1. Create a screenshare and access a pc on the customer network and run the advanced ip scanner to identify the ip assigned to the gateway.
  2. Enter the ip assigned to the gateway in firefox or chrome browser (Internet Explorer will not work to pull up gateway gui).
  3. Login to the gateway gui with the ugs credentials   Username: admin Password: 766285
  4. After you login click on the option on the left labeled Router configuration and then once expanded click on Lan Settings
  5. The field labeled operation mode should be set to bridge not Router. (If set to router click the check box to the right and select bridge from the dropdown and then hit submit at the bottom of the screen.

After setting to bridge mode ensure under the DHCP Server Settings that the dhcp is disabled. click the check to the right and then click the box next to enable to disable dhcp on the lan. click submit and then click reboot to apply.

Once the device has rebooted the printer should now be able to obtain an ip from the customers dhcp server and be reachable from other devices now that its not behind a 2nd nat.
